My mission as a teacher and a tutor is to engage my students while helping them to improve their proficiency. To do so, there needs to be a transference of enthusiasm from the teacher to student during the lesson. And this is why I try my best to teach content while keeping students interested. Otherwise, the lesson is stifled by apathy and turns into a lecture. Trust me, this isn’t fun for neither the student nor for me.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from university, I decided to become a full-time tutor to pass on my knowledge and help students grasp the foundational concepts that are necessary for success in the courses that they’re taking. Rather than being seen as a person who instructs, I want my students to see me as a guide or a coach, who helps them acquire practical skills and motivates them tobe better and go further. This is why I’ve had success tutoring students for more than 12 years. Safe to say, as a veteran in the field, students love working with me because I have a positive attitude and am an expert in the subjects I teach, such as Math and English, as well as standardized tests (i.e. ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT).
Prior to joining TutorOcean, my tutoring business was mainly in-person. There were a few online sessions here and there to serve students living in other cities, but it was tedious to schedule and conduct virtual sessions, due to the lack of a cohesive application.
