Are you ready to join one of Canada’s up-and-coming startups disrupting the $160B EdTech space?  We are looking for a Native developer interested in building performant mobile apps on both the iOS and Android platforms. You will be responsible for designing and building these applications, as well as coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to perfection is required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working in an Agile environment, participating in scrum ceremonies to help solve problems and learning how teams can improve
  • Collaborating with other team members across Engineering, UX, and Product to develop engaging front-end solutions for both iOS and Android platforms
  • Leverage native APIs for deep integration to create smooth User Interfaces that are intuitive for users within an educational environment
  • Diagnose and fix bugs and performance issues
  • Adopt best coding practices and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality
  • Building reusable and scalable components that are API-first driven
  • Using modern technologies and frameworks, to develop front-end applications that scale and perform well on low-end devices across multiple operating system versions

What you should have:

  • Computer Science or Software Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2 – 3 years of work experience developing iOS and Android applications.  Ideally, the app has been published on respective app stores
  • Loves challenging yourself with new projects or experimenting to learn new technologies
  • Firm grasp of Swift and Java, has developed native apps on both iOS and Android, bonus if you are familiar with digital pen, video conferencing technology
  • Extensive experience working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
  • Familiarities with native build tools, like XCode and Android Studio
  • Experience with unit and automation testing suits, like Appium, XCTest, DeTox

As a UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for delivering the best web and mobile user experience, which makes your role extremely important for our success and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. 

You will be designing ideas using various methods and the latest technology. You will be designing graphic user interface elements that will engage users to connect and share learning experiences and knowledge for both large educational institutions and the general public.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Plan and implement new user interface designs based on customer needs and input from stakeholders
  • Optimize and provide suggestions for existing user interface designs
  • Test for intuitivity and experience
  • Communicate with clients to understand their business goals and objectives
  • Develop technical and business requirements and always strive to deliver intuitive and user-centred solutions
  • Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements
  • Create prototypes for new product ideas

What you should have:
