Canadian Federal Government Announces Over $10M Investment in Ottawa-Based AI Companies

Kanata, Ontario, Canada – June 24th, 2024 – TutorOcean, an Ottawa-based education technology startup, is proud to have received a $1 million investment from the Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)

TutorOcean, joined five other Kanata-based tech companies including  Ranovus Inc., Armstrong Monitoring Corp., Larus Technologies Corporation, ThinkRF Corp., and TryCycle Data Systems Inc., as the Honourable Minister Jenna Sudds, MP for Kanata-Carleton and Minister of Families, Children, and Social Development announced the government’s $10 million investment in Ottawa-based tech companies. This investment will help grow the critical AI sector in the education, mental health, semiconductor, business advisory, digital sensor and wireless industries for generations to come.

This funding recognizes TutorOcean as an AI leader in the education technology industry with its  human-AI hybrid approach allowing students around the globe access to critical learning support from both AI and human tutors. With TutorOcean’s AI Tutor, students can receive 24-7 personalized study support in the form of chat, quizzes, lesson plans, and writing coaching. This funding will also help TutorOcean as it continues to invest in important AI tools for educators and school administrators, revolutionizing education in North America under its subsidiary, QuadC.
